Vision Weekend is only in its second year of existence for CrossPoint, but it’s already become a weekend to remember and something I look forward to annually.
This year, I hope you were able to experience Vision Weekend for yourself, but if not, here is a link to relive the moment with us: Vision Weekend
We are still living the vision that we established more than a year ago, and even seeing some amazing progress. The 20 x 30 vision means we want to have 20 CrossPoint locations by the year 2030. This last year we added both Ellsworth and Russell to the CrossPoint family, so we’re making headway! But, that means we have to continue moving forward at least a location every year.
If you were with us for Vision Weekend, you’ll remember, it’s not about just planting churches; because the church is not an organization, it’s people.
If we want to be a church of planters, we must be a people of disciple makers. Everyday missionaries, sharing their faith and leading others to growth in Christ face to face.
If that’s not happening, replanting is pointless. There’s something about the gospel that is grassroots and organic, it can’t be institutionalized. When we do that, we kill the movement of the Holy Spirit, and the growth that only God can give.
But, when individuals are seeking to follow the Lord, growing in Him, and being disciple makers… that’s where it all begins, and that’s where it ends.
That’s why our discipleship challenge from Vision Weekend is so important. It was a seven-day challenge for you to find that one person who you will share the faith with, or link arms with to grow in Christ. But you do realize that the seven-day challenge was just a taste of what life should be like for the everyday missionary, right?
If we are going to be who God wants us to be, and do more than even we know how to ask or imagine through Him, then we’re going to have to be those everyday missionaries again, and again, and again.
I hope that this is the beginning of something beautiful, for every part and everyone at CrossPoint. May the beauty of the gospel as we’ve experienced it and know it, be a natural link to us sharing it with others and helping others grow in their faith. If you’re a mom or dad, start at home with the kiddos. If you have friends that are close or far from Christ, simply be Jesus to them and intentionally have Gospel conversations.
Or, if you’re an old hat at this Faith thing, look around. We are the kind of church that has drawn people that are looking to grow and make a difference. Wrap your arms around them and make a difference in the name of Jesus.
