Volunteer Celebration
You show up early and stay late. You give up Sunday mornings and weeknights. You serve when you’re tired. You notice people and treat them with compassion. You pray for people. You do a lot of things that most people will never even know happened.
Some of you greet people at the door, make coffee, teach kids, disciple students, lead Grow Groups, lead worship, pray with people, help someone find a seat, or help create a safe environment for families. Others are mowing, cleaning, fixing things, preparing rooms, counting money, or taking care of things behind the scenes before anyone ever walks through the doors.
We all do different things, but we’re part of the same mission.
We get to set the table for people to encounter Jesus.
You may never know what it meant to a parent that their kid was loved well. You may never see what God did through a room you prepared, a prayer you prayed, a conversation you lingered in, a song you helped lead, or simply because you were faithful to show up.
So after watching you set the table for everybody else, we want to set the table for you.
We’re going to eat dinner together, play some games, give away some stuff, laugh a lot, and share a few stories of real people who have been impacted because people like you chose to serve. There’s no training. There’s no job for you to do. Just come hang out and let us say thank you.
We know one dinner can’t adequately communicate how grateful we are for the time and energy you give to serving Jesus and His Church. But this is our attempt to give you a resounding THANK YOU.
Yes, we checked the Chiefs schedule. They play the Seahawks at 7:20 PM. We’ll have you out of there in plenty of time to get home for kickoff. Or stick around for the After Party and we’ll throw the game up on the big screen in the Worship Center.
